Dementia-Friendly PSAs with Alzheimer Canada

We helped the Alzheimer Society of Canada (ASC) create and produce four PSAs to spread the message of how we can all help build a dementia-friendly Canada.

The four short videos, all under 90 seconds each, demonstrate scenarios we all may experience throughout our day-to-day activities and provide communication tips on how to be dementia-friendly, with topics such as:

Reducing distractions
Ensuring participation
Providing assistance
Responding compassionately

We’re excited that these videos are finally available to a larger audience. We began working on this project in early 2020, and due to the public health measures in place, it wasn’t until almost two years later that we were able to start filming in February 2022. All the PSAs were shot on the same day, and our four-person video and audio crew worked hard to ensure we got all the shots we needed.

Scripting played a big part in this production. With only a minute and a half or less in each video to tell the story and provide a solution, it took a lot of brainstorming between ASC and our team on how to get the message across. Fun fact! In each PSA, when you see the lead pull away from the conversation and address the camera with the need-to-know information– that was our idea!

We’re thrilled with how the videos turned out, and we look forward to working with ASC again!
